Black Swan Brow Lift™ is a new brow lift surgery technique introduced in 2022. It effectively and precisely addresses drooping brows, drooping upper eyelids and sagging eyelid skin, using a technique unique to the surgeons of SLC Hospital. The incision is made right along the upper edge of the brow, and the brow is lifted to the ideal position so that sagging eyelid skin becomes firmer and tighter. It corrects drooping upper eyelids, excess eyelid skin, heavy tissue at the outer corners of the eyes and outer corners that droop downward. It also helps correct drooping or misshapen brows and increases the space above the eyelid crease for people with a narrow crease, similar to an Endotine brow lift. The whole face looks brighter and younger, the eyes look bigger, rounder and more open, the eyelid crease is more visible, and the brows have a naturally arched shape. Satisfaction is confirmed through Reality Live, with brow lift reviews from real patients and many well-known celebrities.

Results after a Black Swan Brow Lift™

  1. The brows and eyelid creases are in better proportion
  2. The whole face looks brighter and less tired; the eyes look bigger and rounder, with a more visible eyelid crease
  3. The brows look naturally lifted. You can choose to lift the whole brow, from the head to the tail, or only the tail

2 brow lift incision techniques for different goals and concerns

1. Total Black Swan Brow Lift™ incision

Lifts the whole brow. The incision is made above the brow, running from the head of the brow all the way to the tail. Suitable for people with hidden (hooded) eyelid creases who want the crease lifted, and for people who want to change their brow shape to a more arched, Western-style brow. The advantage of an incision in this area is that it allows the greatest brow lift, and it suits people who want to move the entire brow to a higher position.

2. Half Black Swan Brow Lift™ incision

Lifts only the tail of the brow. The incision is made above the brow, only from the middle of the brow to the tail. Suitable for people who want a natural brow height and want the middle and tail of the brow lifted into an arch.

Highlights of the Black Swan Brow Lift™

  1. Lifts the brows and effectively, precisely corrects drooping brows and drooping upper eyelids
  2. Adjusts the brow angle to be higher or more arched, as you wish
  3. Choose the brow height you prefer. With the Black Swan Brow Lift™ you can choose between two incision styles, Total Black Swan Brow Lift™ and Half Black Swan Brow Lift™, according to your goals and the concerns you want to correct
  4. Helps with rejuvenation, making the whole face look brighter and younger
  5. No scars around the eyes

Benefits of the Black Swan Brow Lift™

  1. Corrects hidden (hooded) eyelid creases: the crease becomes more visible and the eyes look bigger and rounder, without double eyelid surgery
  2. Corrects a narrow brow-to-eye distance, bringing the space between the eyes and brows into better balance
  3. Corrects drooping outer eye corners and drooping brow tails, the cause of sad-looking eyes, so the eyes look brighter
  4. Corrects drooping inner brows, the cause of a stern look, by moving the head of the brow to the right position so the whole face looks softer
  5. Corrects sagging eyelid skin, reducing eyelid skin that covers the eyes and improving vision
  6. For every incision position around the brow, the brows can be tattooed over 1-2 months after surgery so the scar is not visible
  7. After surgery you can close your eyes normally; opening and closing the eyes is not affected
  8. Suitable for all genders

Who is the Black Swan Brow Lift™ suitable for?

  1. People with drooping brows
  2. People with drooping or sagging upper eyelids
  3. People with drooping outer eye corners
  4. People with hidden (hooded) eyelid creases or excess eyelid skin
  5. People with a narrow distance between the eyes and brows

Black Swan Brow Lift™ procedure steps

  1. The surgeon designs the brow lift angle
  2. A small, fine incision is made right along the upper edge of the brow
  3. The brow muscle is stitched and fixed in the ideal position, and the incision is closed meticulously right along the brow line

*Some patients may also need Black Swan Eyes Surgery™ double eyelid surgery, depending on their individual concerns and the surgeon’s assessment

Preparing for brow lift surgery

  1. Inform your surgeon about any medical conditions, regular medications, previous surgeries, drug allergies and dietary supplements you take
  2. Stop taking blood thinners, steroids, painkillers, muscle anti-inflammatory drugs, and all vitamins and supplements at least 2 weeks before the procedure (for medications for chronic conditions, follow your doctor’s advice)
  3. Stop smoking and drinking alcohol at least 2 weeks before the procedure to reduce the risk of infection
  4. If you are currently unwell, for example with a fever, cough, sore throat, diarrhoea, an infected wound, red eyes or sore eyes, please inform the nurse at least 2 days before surgery

During the procedure, the surgeon uses local anaesthesia. Afterwards you can eat normally, and you do not need to stop medication for high blood pressure, diabetes or other regular medications

Tips: Preparing for brow lift surgery on the day

  1. Arrive at SLC Hospital 2 hours early
  2. Do not wear makeup, and make sure you are clean and ready on the day of surgery. Do not wear contact lenses (if you need vision correction, wear glasses before and after surgery). Do not wear makeup, nail polish or jewellery on the day of surgery. Please leave valuables at home
  3. On the day of surgery, wear loose, comfortable clothing that is not too tight. A top that buttons at the front makes changing easier
  4. Driving yourself on the day of surgery is not recommended. Have a relative or carer drive, or use public transport to get home

Before a Black Swan Brow Lift™, you should be mentally prepared and try not to be too anxious. Be aware that swelling and bruising around the incision is to be expected after surgery, and the wound needs time to heal

Aftercare following a Black Swan Brow Lift™

  1. Carefully apply a cold compress or ice pack for the first 7 days around the taped area and forehead, taking care not to let the ice pack touch the area covered by the dressing
  2. After day 7, once the dressing has been removed, apply warm compresses to any swollen or bruised areas
  3. Sleep with your head raised on pillows for 2-3 days after the procedure
  4. For the first 1-3 days after surgery, clean your face with wet wipes or cotton wool dampened with water and keep the wound dry. You can wash your face from day 4
  5. Avoid sunlight and apply sunscreen with SPF50 or higher, as the scar is sensitive to sunlight during the first month
  6. Take all the medication provided by SLC Hospital until finished
  7. Clean the wound with saline and apply antiseptic, gently dabbing along the wound with a cotton bud
  8. You can eat normally, but avoid fermented, pickled and raw foods
  9. Avoid alcohol and smoking

Possible symptoms after a brow lift: in the first 1-3 days, some people may feel tightness and numbness around the forehead. This improves from day 4 onward
