Breast Augmentation Types & Implants

1. Breast augmentation with the implant placed above the muscle (Sub Glandular) The surgeon places the implant under the breast tissue and on top of the muscle. Placing the implant above the muscle is a long-established method, suitable for those who have a fair amount of breast tissue. 8. Sleep on your back for about 3–4 weeks after surgery. Do not sleep on your side or stomach, to prevent pressure on the breasts that could distort their shape.
9. Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 1–2 weeks after surgery, because substances in cigarettes reduce the oxygen level in the blood, which may cause wounds to heal more slowly than normal or increase the risk of infection.
